When will Social Security send the December payments?

Do not forget that to collect any SSA payments you must have applied for benefits first. Therefore, you can be eligible only if the administration approves your application. The December payment schedule is:
- SSI payments: December 1st and December 29th
- Pension payments for retirees receiving benefits before May 1997: 1 December
- Retirement or SSDI payment if your date of birth is 1 to 10: December 13
- Retirement or SSDI payment if your date of birth is between 11 and 20: December 20
- Retirement or SSDI payment if your date of birth is 21 to 31: December 27
SSI (Supplemental Security Income) recipients will be the first to receive payment. They will also be the last to redeem another payment. In this case, the last payment is from the month of January. Social Security sends it in advance, on the previous business day when payments are on a holiday.
Are all social security equal in December?
The sums of Social Security Retirement, SSDIor SSI payments are different. Even if you only have Supplemental Security Income, the payment on December 1st and the payment on December 29th will not be the same.
This is because December 1st SSI the check does not include COLA for 2024. So while you can only get up to $914 in 2023, the maximum amount will be $943 for 2024 and the December 29th SSI check.
